Hongkong Telecom Institute of Information Technology (HKTIIT) is a research and development (R&D) unit within the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). It was inaugurated on 1 November 1990 with a generous donation from the PCCW Foundation.
The purpose of HKTIIT is to support R&D in information technology and to apply the results to serve the needs of the Hong Kong community. In conformance with both the intention of the donor and the mission of UST, HKTIIT will seek to maximize the benefit of the founding gift by ensuring a high rate of productivity in quality research and the timely application of the fruits of such research.
In order to facilitate greater interactions between HKTIIT researchers and Hong Kong industry, HKTIIT sponsors Industrial Forum on Information Technology, seminars and other activities. The purpose of this web site is to provide a broad overview of the R&D activities currently sponsored by HKTIIT so that further collaborations between HKTIIT and industrial companies in Hong Kong might take place.
